T.J. Donovan, candidate in a Democratic primary for attorney general, announced Monday he has the endorsement of former Gov. Phil Hoff.
From the news release:
“I did not make this decision lightly,” said Hoff, “but the issues facing Vermont are greater and more challenging than ever, and I think T.J. has shown, as Chittenden County’s state’s attorney, he has the leadership and innovative ideas to tackle them. I have great respect for the incumbent, but when it comes to the job of Vermont’s attorney general, I think T.J. Donovan is the right person at the right time for this job.”
In the endorsement war with incumbent Democrat Bill Sorrell, among former Democratic governors, that’s:
Hoff for Donovan.
Madeleine Kunin for Sorrell.
That leaves Tom Salmon and Howard Dean on the sidelines.
What about Dean? Officially, he has not endorsed Sorrell, who was Dean’s administration secretary, but Sorrell indicated that could be coming later this summer.
